Seeking Box Office Manager for Play Festival

Nothing Without a Company seeks a part-time Box Office Manager for the New World Play Festival.  This position is a contract position for this individual production with the contract ending at the conclusion of the New World Play Festival run on October 27, 2018.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

    • Begin managing box office emails and Brown Paper Tickets (BPT) on October 1st

    • Dress rehearsals October 10, 17 and 24

    • Performance dates October 11-13, 18-20, 25-27

Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays @ 7pm

    • Hours: 6pm to 8:30pm on performance days

    • All communication must go through boxoffice@nothingwithoutacompany.org and lists updated in Google Drive.

  • Opening and closing speech

TICKETING

  • Manage ticketing through Brown Paper Tickets (BPT)

  • Set up and managing ticketing for Hottix through League of Chicago Theaters.

  • Set up ticketing for Chicago Arts Access (CAA)

  • Set up and manage communication about comp tickets for NWaC, Press, and other invited guests, through BPT and lists on Google Drive

  • Manage ticket exchanges through BPT

  • Assist in coordination of group ticket sales

  • Communicate with CAA and possible communication with CAA attendees.

  • Print and maintain records for WALK-UP LIST (this includes Hottix and CAA) and BPT LIST for every show.

MERCH & DONATIONS

  • Set up and sell merch at box office and post show

  • Provide accurate counts of merch inventory to Marketing Director

  • Collect Donations at box office and post show

  • Maintain program inventory, reporting accurate counts to Marketing Director as needed for ordering.

FUNDS

  • Accurately account for all transactions, cash and electronic

  • Update box-office report post show

  • Collect all funds at each show

  • Give all funds to designated individual. Procedure to be determined closer to production dates.


QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field, or comparable professional experience. 

  • Experience in box office or related field preferred.

  • Excellent with cash handling, deadline-management, written, and verbal communications skills.

  • Proficient in Excel, Word and the Google suite.
