Nothing Without a Company

Announces Cast of Bobby Pin Girls

 

CHICAGO, July 26, 2017 -  Chicago non-profit theatre company Nothing Without a Company is proud to announce casting for its fall production, Bobby Pin Girls, written by Janey Bell (Company Ensemble Member), directed by Ben Kaye. The cast features Grace Hutchings (Ana), Emilie Modaff (Bree), Debo Balogun (Tim), and Peter Wilde (Danny).

Grace Hutchings made the move to Chicago earlier this year, and is thrilled to be making her theatrical debut in the city. Select theatre credits include: Sylvia (Little Theatre of the Rockies), Polaroid Stories (Avenue Theatre), Midsummer Night’s Dream (Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra), and Alice in Slasherland (SOAPbox Productions). She also recently performed in the Chicago 48 Hour Film Project. Hutchings graduated with a B.A. in Acting from the University of Northern Colorado.

Emilie Modaff is Chicago-based actor, writer, podcaster, and musician. She moved to Chicago in 2011 to attend Columbia College Chicago, where she earned a BA in Theater Acting. Since then, she's had the pleasure of working with Eclipse Theater, Strawdog Theater, Forks & Hope, No Stakes Theater Project, and producing the Parsec Award Winning podcast "PleasureTown." She is currently producing the new web-series KAPPA FORCE, set to shoot this fall, and is working towards releasing a collection of original music. Emilie is represented by Shirley Hamilton.

Debo Balogun is a Chicago native with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology and Theatre Arts from Augustana College. Past Chicago credits include Oak Park Festival Theatre and The Powers That Be Theatre Company. He has also worked with Riverside Theatre of Iowa City.

Peter Wilde is a Merry Mischief Maker and builder of stuff and things here in Chicago, thrilled to be working with Nothing Without a Company. Freshly seen in Mary Shelley Sees the Future (Runaways Lab Theatre), Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead (Metropolis Performing Arts Center), The Portrait of Dorian Gray (Runaways Lab Theatre), and the Fly Honey Show.

Edgar Sanchez was hired in May 2017 as the casting director for Nothing Without a Company. Bobby Pin Girls is the first production he cast for the organization. Sanchez has been a full time artist in the city of Chicago for the last ten years. Aside from his work as an actor, which includes productions at OSF, APT, The Rep, Goodman, Steppenwolf, Chicago Shakespeare, and The Court Theatre, Sanchez was a co-founder of Sankofa Theatre Company. He served as Executive Director for four years. While with Sankofa, Sanchez directed two full productions: A Midsummer Night's Dream and This Is Our Youth. He's directed and written numerous shorts for the following festivals: 24 Hour Abby Fest, Woman's Alliance Theater, Victory Garden's One-Minute Play Festival, Red Theatre's One Act Play Festival, Oregon Shakespeare Festival's Black Swan Project, and Congo Square's Jambalaya Series. Sanchez's other full production as a director includes A Midsummer Night's Dream in Austin, Texas with Redneck Shakespeare: Master of Revels. Sanchez was born in Dominican Republic, raised in Miami, Florida, and received his B.F.A. in Acting from The Theatre School at DePaul University with a minor in Sociology.
